National Geographic Traveller (UK) Photography Competition 2016 Exhibition opens to the public at theprintspace

LONDON (4 March 2016) — The National Geographic Traveller (UK) Photography Competition 2016 Exhibition opens to the public today. Dedicated to the finalists of its annual Photography Competition, the gallery at London’s theprintspace showcases 27 of this year’s most accomplished images, including the grand-prize winner and the category winners. The exhibition is on public display from 3-15 March (Monday-Friday, 10am to 7pm).

Pat Riddell, editor of National Geographic Traveller, said, “Our second exhibition showcases the range of our readers’ talent and subject matter. Continuing our close partnership with theprintspace, we’re proud to work with a gallery that gives these fantastic entries deserved recognition.â€

The winners and selected finalists from the 2016 shortlist are now available to buy as high-quality prints from theprintspace’s dedicated online art-sales platform, thehub. To order prints of the winning images, visit:

National Geographic Traveller (UK) launched its annual photo competition in 2011. UK photographers submitted their entries in one of seven categories: Action, Nature, People, Urban, Mobile, Video and Portfolio. This year’s competition aimed to find more of the best talent. Winners will be sent on a photographic commission to destinations including Tanzania, Vietnam, Abu Dhabi, Italy and Iceland.

The independent judging panel consisted of Alastair Jolly, European manager for SmugMug; Steve Davey, freelance travel photographer/writer; Carol Enquist, senior photo editor, National Geographic Traveler (US); and Swhype Media co-founder Andy Greenhouse. Chris Hudson, National Geographic Traveller (UK)’s art editor, drew up the shortlist and had the final decision on the winner.
