Applications for the 2025 Travel Media Awards Step Up scheme are now open

Applications for the Travel Media Awards Step Up scheme — driving diversity and inclusion in the travel media industry by providing young people with practical experience — are now open.

For summer 2025, Step Up is able to offer five candidates the opportunity to undertake paid placements with the founding partners, as well as welcoming six new companies to the scheme. Each of the five winners will undertake four-week placements with two of the 10 companies involved (eight weeks in total) which have been paired up in the following way:

  • ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø & FINN Partners
  • TTG Media & Intrepid Travel
  • Ink Global & Kuoni
  • Metro & easyJet holidays
  • The Sun & Virgin Atlantic

Offering the chance to gain experience across journalism, publishing, marketing and PR, Step Up encourages applications from young people from underrepresented demographics, including individuals from diverse racial and ethnic groups, people with disabilities and those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

Step Up was created by the Travel Media Awards in 2023, with the first intake of winners in 2024.ÌýÌý

The founding partners were ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, FINN Partners, Intrepid Travel and TTG Media.  

The 2025 programme is comprised of 10 partner companies (including the above founding four partners) plus easyJet Holidays, Ink Global, Kuoni, Metro, The Sun and Virgin Atlantic.ÌýÌý
